WHO'S OUT..................
Heidi Strobel AGE 24 HOMETOWN Buffalo, Mo. OCCUPATION Gym teacher MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN She has sold lingerie and fireworks in the past, but these days she gets her kicks out of dancing and keeping fit. MOST LIKELY TO... Annoy others with her luxury item: a guitar and songbook. Does anyone remember Sonja's ukulele? (Not likely. She was booted in ''Survivor'''s debut episode.)
JoAnna Ward AGE 31 HOMETOWN Orangeburg, S.C. OCCUPATION School guidance counselor MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN This athlete, who's an impressive 5 foot 10, exercises her body as an aerobics instructor and exercises her faith as a born-again Christian. A former scholarship hoopster, she may look familiar from a recent appearance on court -- in 2002's movie ''Juwanna Mann.'' MOST LIKELY TO... Get voted off for being a physical overachiever.
Shawna Mitchell AGE 23 HOMETOWN Redwood City, Calif. OCCUPATION Retail clothing sales MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN An avid soccer player who even brought a ball along as her luxury item, she's of the Ethan Zohn mold (not a bad plan, considering that he passed and kicked his way to victory in ''Africa''). MOST LIKELY TO... Make friends when the boys and girls merge -- she's a total tomboy.
Janet Koth AGE 47 HOMETOWN Manchester, Mo. OCCUPATION Abstinence counselor and travel agent MARITAL STATUS Married LOWDOWN This self-described ''June Cleaver with a twist'' is currently working toward getting her certification as a hypnotist. Coincidentally, she likes to be in control and influence people. MOST LIKELY TO... Give pre-challenge pep talks. (She's also a motivational speaker.)
Ryan Aiken AGE 23 HOMETOWN Ellicott City, Md. OCCUPATION Actor, bartender, and model MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN Ahhh, the ol' actor/bartender/model combo -- a promising mix. Models like ''Australia'''s Nick lasted through 10 votes, and an actor (''Thailand'''s Brian Heidik) made it to a big win. As for bartenders, they may not triumph -- but a lot of them get on this show. MOST LIKELY TO... Capitalize on the national exposure, à la Colleen, Gervase, Jerri, Rudy...
Daniel Lue AGE 27 HOMETOWN Houston OCCUPATION Tax accountant MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN Considering that he has a black belt in Wu Shu kung fu and a penchant for bodybuilding and wrestling (not to mention an avowed admiration for the bristly Bill O'Reilly and Charles Barkley), the other campers should make nice with this innocent-looking Texan. MOST LIKELY TO... Wet his pants. He's afraid to pee in public places and, last we checked, there are no outhouses on ''Survivor.''
Roger Sexton AGE 56 HOMETOWN Valencia, Calif. OCCUPATION Construction executive and Vietnam vet MARITAL STATUS Married LOWDOWN At his age, he's considered a dinosaur -- especially among this relatively young crowd (in fact, he's ''Amazon'''s eldest camper). Still, military experience has proven a valuable commodity in the past. MOST LIKELY TO... Draw comparisons to original ''Survivor'' and ex-Navy SEAL Rudy Boesch, a quarter-finalist in his day.
Jeanne Hebert AGE 41 HOMETOWN North Attleboro, Mass. OCCUPATION Director of marketing MARITAL STATUS Married LOWDOWN Winning's nothing new for this ''Survivor'' fan: She once won a $25,000 shopping spree in a radio contest. MOST LIKELY TO... Be this season's ''Big Mama.'' She has three kids of her own, her slogan is ''Moms don't quit.''
WHO'S OUT, BUT ON THE JURY:
Christy Smith AGE 24 HOMETOWN Basalt, Colo. OCCUPATION Children's adventure guide for the deaf MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN She's deaf and can read lips, but that won't help once her competitors start talking behind her back, as they always do. She recently partook in a 50-day Outward Bound trip to Alaska -- the next best thing to ''Survivor.'' MOST LIKELY TO... Spot the ''rats.'' She's got a degree in criminology.
Alex Bell AGE 32 HOMETOWN Los Angeles OCCUPATION Triathlon trainer MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN This former DreamWorks employee knows a good script when he sees one. His current fave: A troubled youth kicks his drug and alcohol habits and wins a million bucks on ''Survivor.'' It's still in development. (On the downside, he says he gets grumpy when he's hungry.) MOST LIKELY TO... Uhhh, get grumpy!
Deena Bennett AGE 35 HOMETOWN Riverside, Calif. OCCUPATION Deputy district attorney MARITAL STATUS Married LOWDOWN ''Criminal prosecution is my game, protecting the innocent is my aim,'' she says. But no one, including this mother of two, is REALLY innocent on ''Survivor.'' In any case, she's certainly well traveled, after climbing Ayers Rock in Australia and diving at the Great Barrier Reef. MOST LIKELY TO... Make good use of her luxury item: water balloons.
Dave Johnson AGE 24 HOMETOWN Pasadena, Calif. OCCUPATION Rocket scientist MARITAL STATUS Single LOWDOWN This NASA employee biked across the U.S. for two months last summer... and took only three showers along the way, fully preparing himself for ''Survivor''-dom. MOST LIKELY TO... Put an end to the expression ''It doesn't take a rocket scientist...''

************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 12************
Geeeez, as we head down the home stretch here, it's not looking like much of a contest between Cindy and me now, is it? With the ever-annoying Heidi now gone from the Survivor camp, and Jenna basically canvassing to be voted off ASAP, it would appear that all hope is lost for the ladies' side in this Battle of the Sexes challenge. What's even sweeter for me right now, is my pick from the start to go all the way, Butch, is still in there. Whether he'll actually win this thing is yet to be seen, though; he'll almost completely HAVE to win immunity in the next challenge or two. But the poor guy hasn't won anything on his own yet.
Still, it ain't over till the fat lady sings...although she's warming up pretty loudly. Cindy!
We begin this second-last installment with the all-but-defeated Cindy's comments on the May 8 episode:
Oh, this is the show that I have been waiting for! The opening scenes show Butch getting firewood ready and everyone else complaining about it, and making fun of him behind his back. I agree with Butch, there is nothing wrong with being prepared.
In the final reward challenge, the big reward was a new Saturn Ion, which was really nice. They had to revisit past reward challenges that they have done. It was really funny because the first part of the challenge involved untying knots, and Heidi was the last one to get through that. That was so funny. In the end Matt won the car. In the trunk of the car was a picnic, complete with hamburgers and hotdogs and chicken, and he was able to pick one person to share it with, so he picked Rob. While they were enjoying their feast, we saw scenes of the camp catching fire and then it burned down completely. So when Heidi, Jenna and Butch came back, they were so freaked out. All Jenna talked about was losing her crown and a jacket or something that was handed down from sister to sister. Oh man, get a life!!!! I mean, if that is all that you have to worry about in life, is some stupid crown. Then Heidi is saying how she wished her stuff was burned too. Yeah right, that girl is so &^%$ing phony. I am sure that you are going to wish for your stuff to be burned up. Of course you could see that they were thinking that it was Butch's fault, and in a way, it was. You aren't really supposed to stack dry wood next to a fire, but, it was an accident. Then that stupid Rob had the nerve to talk about conspiracy theories and that he thinks that Butch may have intentionally set it. What a dweeb!!
In the immunity challenge, they had to go through a variety of obstacles to retrieve five feathers, with the first person to have 5 feathers on a pole winning immunity. The winner of this was Matt. He was on a streak in this show. Well deserved though, and now is my pick to win. Mike will laugh at me because I am going around and around. I really wanted Deena to win, but she is gone---then Christy, but she is gone. So now my vote is with Matt; it was with Butch, but I predict he will be the next one voted out.
When everyone got back to camp, Jenna started to cry and said that she couldn't take it anymore, and Heidi jumped right in and used that to her advantage. Some friend, huh? She went behind Jenna's back and told Rob that instead of her being voted off next that Jenna should go as her health is not good. Oh, how nice of you to be so concerned for you supposed friend!
When it came to tribal council and Heidi's name came up three times, the look on her face and Christy's face was priceless. And when she was asked if she thought that she deserved to be in the final two, she said yes, that she was the mastermind behind all of them getting to this point. Why do people do this? Do they think that what they say there won't affect what happens to them? From the looks on the other members faces, they didn't agree with that comment at all. I am so glad that she is gone. If she would have won, I would have never watched Survivor again. Can't wait to see what develops on Sunday night.... See ya then, Mike!!
And now for the host with the most...............
You know, as I sat here cutting and pasting Cindy's share of the Survivor report to the site here and reading it for the first time in the process, a few things occurred to me....none the least of which is ANYTHING can happen on this show. There's four people left, here: Rob, Matt, Butch and Jenna. It's basically a given that Rob can not win this, but that fact figures into the equation here more than you might think.
Rob and Matt have very good chances at winning immunity challenges as we wind down the game. Suppose Rob wins immunity all the way to getting him to the final two; he would likely want Matt and Butch both voted off so he could take Jenna to the final, with whom he would have the best chance of winning against with the jury at the final Tribal Council. It's conceivable in that way that Jenna could win this thing in the end. It's an unlikely scenario, but I've been taught through this series to expect the unexpected. Matt is the other favorite to win immunity challenges, especially if they favor the physically advantaged. I'd be willing to bet that he'd keep Rob aboard because, number one, he's been loyal to him for some unholy reason none of us really understands, and number two, it's obvious he's smarter than we all believed with proof being that he's in the final four. He didn't get there on his looks or flashing his enormous breasts like a couple of other tribe members. Butch does have a fleeting chance of getting to the final, but only if he wins immunity. If he doesn't win the next immunity challenge, he's outta there, where everyone else likely knows he's the most respected person of the entire Survivor Amazon cast. And as I said from the outset, as much as I want Butch to win, it's going to be an uphill struggle. But I'm hangin' with ya, Butch!
It's interesting that Cindy has finally come around to seeing Heidi as the complete sandbox of a brain that she really is, and Jenna not a lot better. Remember us arguing, Cindy, how much of a bubblehead that I said she was weeks ago, and you saying how smart she was to do this and that? And I'll say it again, her and Jenna got as far as they did because of their boobs. And now they're getting booted off because they're boobs. Jenna's chance of winning in a final tribal council vote is minimal, just from what I spied watching Christy in the jury after Heidi was voted off, slapping Alex on the shoulder as if to say "we got her! One evil stepsister down, one to go!" But we have to give Heidi and Jenna credit for providing us with two great villains on this show along with Rob. Heidi, though, seems the most delusional. Her comments that she "worked her ass off" to get where she is as we saw her lounging with her cliques throughout the program while the others slaved away were particularly amusing. But oddly enough, I think she really believes what she's saying! Including when she and Jenna insist they're not backstabbing connivers like Rob. You've got to laugh and hate them at the same time.
Cindy and myself will be together on Sunday night watching the finale to "Survivor: The Amazon", and I'll have the camera all ready and waiting for her! Even if, by the fleeting chance, she were to win. I shudder to think what she'll take as a picture if she did. But hey, Cindy, at the very least, get that essay written!
Come back early next week to find out who is the winner in the first "Survivor: Mike vs Cindy" challenge!
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 11************
Another week of "Survivor", another astonishing upset! Who could've predicted what was going to happen this time out? I doubt anyone foresaw Christy getting the boot this week. At least up until Tribal Council.
When the show began, the king of "Survivor" TV airtime, Rob, was already posturing himself to make his next devious manouevre. As much of an ass as Rob is, he's still the smartest player of the game that's left. Witness his getting trapped in Heidi and Jenna's net at last, only to more or less sweet talk his way out of it by the end of the episode. He was clearly the favorite to be the next one voted off as the show progressed, and even he was more worried than he'd ever been before, pacing around and babbling in a frenetic attempt to free himself from the net in which he was caught, a net made of his own lies and deceit woven by the 'younger, cuter and better bodies' of Heidi and Jenna. But as they say, it takes one to know one. And these three know a lot more about what's going on in the Amazon than anybody else there.
The reward challenge was somewhat predictable. As soon as the prize was offered (a visit from a loved one back home), you knew that everyone was going to get to see theirs one way or another. The game was to find a boat paddle in the sand, take a canoe out to a floating box in the water and answer a question correctly there to retrieve a bag of puzzle pieces to be correctly assembled back at shore. Matt narrowly won over Rob, and when he was presented with the option to give up his reward so that all the other Survivors could see their own loved ones, he sacrificed his prize, likely knowing full well that he wasn't going to go away empty handed if he chose to do so. He did indeed get to see his mother, with the added bonus of having dinner with her.
The immunity challenge was obviously more tense, as immunity now means more than it did at any other point in this series of "Survivor". Each tribe member had to break up to five plates that they had hanging in front of them with a slingshot, with each plate having a shuffleboard disc inside them. The more discs they had, the better, as they had a shuffleboard game later in which whoever's disc was closest to the target on the board would win immunity. Jenna got the most discs, which proved crucial in her win of this challenge in the end.
This leads us to Tribal Council where, in my opinion, Christy dashed absolutely any hopes she had in making it to the final four by informing the rest of the tribe that she was in "the driver's seat". How stupid can you be???? Why not have a huge flashing sign over you that says "VOTE ME OFF BECAUSE I'M YOUR BIGGEST THREAT"? I couldn't believe how cocky Christy had become. Her cockiness cost her, just as it did Roger, Alex and Deena when they were kicked off. Her parting speech was memorable though, one of the best yet, vowing revenge on her "evil stepsisters" and promising that they would not get to win the million bucks. I hope she's right. Those two girls are Cindy's last hope at beating me in our own challenge here! But talk about flip flopping. First, Heidi and Jenna are all comfy and cozy with Rob, then they hate his guts. Now they're cozy again. It just goes to show how easily they are manipulated. What gets me with these two, is they attempt to make a pact with Christy in this episode, then vote against her in the end, but along the way accuse Rob of being a backstabbing slimeball. Hello??
But I'm just about positive I'm going to win this thing now. By the way, Cindy...I know you probably don't have your essay written yet or anything, but, I have this GREAT scenario in mind for a victory photo of the two of us. So, uh, better muster up the courage, because you're going to lose! And you KNOW it!
.....And from a lovely woman's point of view, heeeeere's Cindy:
Oh, I have been waiting to comment on this show so bad. First off, I am so pissed off at the way things happened. I was rooting for Christy after Deena got booted out, and now I have no one left to root for. I can't stand Heidi or Jenna and I don't want them to win at all, because they don't deserve anything. Except a kick in the ass!
I will start my comments from the beginning of the show.... It opens up with Heidi and Jenna crying and saying how betrayed they were, and then Heidi saying that she can't believe that people would act that way, and she would never betray anyone. HELLO??? This is the girl who didn't blink twice when Dave came to her and said that they were going to be voting off Jeanne, and that they want to bring her to the merge with them, so she turned her back on Jeanne and voted her off. Then she votes Dave out to go with the alliance of Alex, Rob and Jenna. What kind of morals does this girl have?? And to sit there and not even acknowledge that she has done that before was too much for me. The cuss words coming out of my mouth.... let's just say that I was glad that my daughter Sara was in bed. Then her and Jenna talk to Christy, and she's like "oh, NOW they want to talk to me... now that they think they might be in trouble they want to talk." So Christy doesn't give them a straight answer as to what they are doing, which I thought was really smart.
Off to the reward challenge, where they had to row boats and answer a question and if they got it right, they would fill in a puzzle. Matt was the winner of this one; he was then asked if he thought that it was better to give than to receive, he said to give and he gave the others a chance to see their loved ones. That was really nice. One comment from Rob was like "ok, so Matt did that, anyone would have done that." My personal opinion is this: If Heidi or Jenna won, I don't think that they would have done what Matt did, because Matt is much nicer than those two put together. In the end, Matt got to see his mom which was really nice.
Then on the immunity challenge which Mike explained, and Jenna was the winner. When everyone got back to camp, Rob was clearly nervous and he asked Christy what she was going to do, and Christy did get a little bit cocky by saying that she wasn't sure what she was thinking, of what she should do to get herself ahead. Now, those thoughts should have stayed in her head, and she never should have never told Rob that. After that conversation, he runs over to Heidi and cooks up another plot to get them to vote off Christy, and guess what? Heidi says "oh yes, I will do that!" After she told Christy that they are in an alliance and are going to get rid of Rob. I was so mad!!!!
At Tribal Council, Jenna gave her immunity to Heidi, which right there told me what they were going to do. Poor Christy! Although I don't agree with the comment that she did make saying that she is in the driver's seat. Of course, she was voted out. She did not deserve to be voted out that way. I loved her parting words, that the "wicked stepsisters" are not going to get her vote to win. In the end though, Jeff Probst said it best...."it's one thing to make it to the final two, but it's another to get the votes to win." Well said. He also said that they had somehow lead Christy to believe that she was safe, when clearly she was not. That stupid Heidi sat there and shook her head. I can't stand that blonde bimbo! Judging from the previews for the next show, it looks like the wicked stepsisters turn on each other. I CAN'T WAIT!
So, Mike, tell me what I have to do, because I have given up. I don't want Heidi or Jenna to win, I am now rooting for Matt to win. It looks like you may just win after all. :(

************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 10************
Oh, the opening scenes of this show were so funny. Here you see Alex, Rob, Jenna and Heidi all relaxing while Butch, Christy and Matt are working their asses off. The arrogance that they were showing pissed me off, they were so horrible! One of them had said that they are like the cool kids in high school and the others are left out. What a bunch of @$$#0!! I was so mad; how can people treat each other like that?
When it came time for the reward challenge, they were each given money to buy food items. A big surprise came when Jeff pulled out letters from home, so of course everyone started to bid. Jenna and Christy went head to head, and I am so happy that Christy won. Jenna started to cry and was mad at Christy for bidding. Who does she think she is? Does she think she is the only one who has family? I think that Jeff felt bad for her, so he offered to do another bidding. What made me laugh was Heidi knew how important it was to Jenna, and she started to bid against her; Jenna did win the bid though. I was so happy for Christy though. She is now my pick to win the whole thing, and has been the most honest player in the whole game. She has not stepped on anyone's toes, and she has not done anything as devious as the others have.
Then Rob and Alex start talking, and Alex tells Rob that if they come down to the final four that he would vote him out. Then it would be Alex, Heidi and Jenna. That got Rob's wheels turning.
The immunity challenge was really neat... they got these books that were like what you had when you were in high school, "slam" books-- who is the coolest, who do you trust, who do you have a crush on, those sort of questions. It was really interesting to hear the answers that were given. Immunity went to whoever answered correctly five times first. One of the questions that I thought was funny was "who uses their sexuality the most?" The answer: JENNA! That was so great. My guess would have been Heidi, with her and her natural assets (insert smirk here). The next question that I loved was "who would not survive on their own?" Answer JENNA! I thought that was so true. The winner of immunity was Rob.
When everyone got back to camp, Alex, Rob, Heidi and Jenna all agreed to vote Matt out. Then Rob goes over to tell Matt all the wrong things that he has done, which was actually surprising to me. It had me questioning his rationality. What is he doing? Then he confesses to Matt that he lied to him a couple of times and that he is thinking of voting off Alex. Matt, of course, says yes to that. Then Rob talks to Christy and she is so happy. She is just grinning from ear to ear. I am thinking if Rob changes his mind, and votes out Matt, I will be SO mad because Christy will be the next to go.
Off to tribal council where three vote for Matt and four vote for Alex, the next member to be voted out. I so loved the looks on Jenna and Heidi's faces! I'm glad that Rob did this, I hated that little group of four jerks. I am predicting that next week, Jenna will go, then Heidi, then Rob and it will be Matt, Butch and Christy in the final three, and Christy will win. See, Rob actually shot himself in the foot when it comes down to it. He will not get Alex's vote, or Heidi's, or Jenna's. So the chances of him winning are not good.
Which makes me happy and Mike sad because he is going to lose this little bet! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
~~~~~~~~~~And now a few words from our site host~~~~~~~~~~
Wow. Seems pretty cocky about her predictions, doesn't she, folks? Heh! Sounds pretty confident coming from somebody whose predictions change on a regular basis as the results come in every week. Hey look...I did say that I thought Butch ultimately would win. From the getgo! And he's still there, so give me credit for that much. Cindy's original pick, Deena, is long gone, so I should win the bet on that alone! Does anyone out there agree with me? No? Well......!!
Seriously, this episode seems to be well received by just about everyone from what I hear, but I found it a little bit dull. The outcome, though, was a complete suckerpunch. I would think that everyone who saw the previews for this episode thought the same thing: that none of the arrogant four, as Cindy quite effectively put it, would be affected by Tribal Council this time out. Give Mark Burnett credit. He had us all believing that either Matt, Butch or Christy was going to get the Doc Martins in the keester when all was said and done this round. Whether any one of us wants to admit it or not, Rob is the smartest player in "Survivor: Amazon", playing the politics and favorites game pretty much down to the letter. Alex never had any parting shots for Rob when the episode was over. I would even venture to say that Alex wasn't quite as surprised as many would have thought he was. He knew he didn't have a chance at winning.
What Cindy had to say about Jenna had me asking questions...I'm not sure that Cindy noticed, but Jenna did mention her mother having been diagnosed with cancer before she left her to join "Survivor", and so getting a letter from her mother to hear how she's taking her treatments would be pretty important to her. I would gather that the producers empathized with her on this, and went a bit farther to be sure she got a letter from her mom. Heidi proved her bubbleheadedness once more, though, by trying on the second go-round to outbid her supposed best friend Jenna for the letter. It was obvious Probst was trying to make amends after Christy outbid Jenna the first time. But that's what you get when you look for a shred of decency from a schoolteacher/stripper-wannabe on an internationally televised show.
It certainly is a relief, though, to see that hateful team of four idiots broken up, where it looked for a while like Alex, Rob, Heidi and Jenna were going to dictate the remainder of the game. Now with Rob defecting (and for how long, who knows? Stay tuned next week), I can't help but wonder if he really is trying to get Heidi and Jenna and himself in the last three in the end, thus eliminating Alex, who posed the biggest threat to that scenario. I'm standing by my man, Butch (voted by his peers as the person they'd most trust their lives with), but Rob--as detestable as he is--is proving himself as the best player in this thing all the way up to now. If Rob is to win, he'd be probably the most wise to keep it between himself and Matt in the end, probably believing that Matt would be the final one to be voted out at the final Tribal Council. Rob doesn't stand a chance against Christy or Butch. They may be his next targets because of it. Unless, the others get it together and get rid of Rob.
So much to ponder! But, as I say every week, nothing is a sure thing in this outing of Survivor. Cindy, my dear, I still have to believe that you are MINE in the end. And that, my friends, is true. It's DAMN true.
=================================================
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 9************
Geez, eh? Like I said in the past about this show, you just never, ever know what's going to happen next. The person I least expected to get kicked off got the boot this week, that being Deena. I wonder if anyone saw this coming? It just goes to show how good a show "Survivor" really is. Reality really is stranger than fiction. Writers could never come up with the anti-climaxes that real people come up with, like they do on this program.
The lousy thing about "Survivor" this week is I didn't set my VCR clock when the time changed, so when I set the timer for it, I only wound up getting half of it, so the lovely and talented Cindy will fill you in on the first half which included the reward challenge. But I did catch the immunity challenge. Every "Survivor" series has its gross-outs, and this one is no different; where everyone was given their absolutely rank and awful things to eat, from beetles to centipede thingies to giant big-ass grasshoppers. Pretty friggin' disgusting if you ask me. But funny, too. Seeing Christy doing her darndest to wolf down the barbecued and raw bugs and watching her gag with every attempt was hilarious. Janice and me sat here and belly laughed watching her stomach try to give her the trampoline effect with the creepy crawly offerings. Everyone did quite well, but it came down to Deena and Matthew in the end, with Matt winning out over Deena. I couldn't blame her. I think I would've taken Jenna's route and skipped the whole thing.
As we watch the fallout from the immunity challenge, you get to see the posturing and dealmaking going on, with friends conspiring against 'friends' with knives ready to be shoved in each other's backs. Deena is truly a prime example of this. She's screwed over nearly everyone she's made a deal with, and Rob seemed to see through her this week for just a long enough glimmering moment, for the love of God. Naturally, Deena was trying to have Rob believe that there's still a clique between her, him and two or three others, and that Matt is the one that must go next, while she speaks her real intentions to the private camera that she's rallying the girls to stick together and pick off the guys one by one. What Deena didn't know is that there were defectors in her midst. Jenna was sick of Deena's dominance, and it seemed Heidi felt likewise, and all became clear when the time came to cast the final vote at tribal council. I couldn't believe it! I thought maybe we were being led to think that Deena might be a target, but that Matt was going to be kicked off for sure. But the vote was unanimous. And Deena was not a good sport about it, judging from her parting comments. I thought it was amusing that she said that the others will have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives, like she never betrayed anyone there herself.
And there we have it, folks. Down to four guys and three girls. I pretty much sided with the idea that the girls were going to walk away with this for the remainder of the way, but now, who knows? All I can say, Cindy, is that it wouldn't be a bad idea for you to get your own little essay ready. Looks like I've got you in a corner now!
.............and now a few words from stunning Cindy.....
This show opened up with troublemaker Rob saying this to Matt, and i quote: "Every morning I give Matt a debriefing of wild goose chases I want him to work on for the day just to keep his mind busy so he doesn't have a chance to figure out what's really going on." What an ass!! I so can't stand this guy. Then Matt goes on to tell Butch that he will inform him of what is going on saying that he is Butch's link to what is happening. I hope that Butch wins, he is the only honest one that i have seen out there so far.
The reward challenge involved throwing darts, bows and arrows, and spears. There was quite a battle between Alex and Matt, with Alex ending up with the big win. Jeff informed him that he was able to bring someone along with him to enjoy his coffee cafe, so he decided to take Jenna with him. They pigged out royally on doughnuts, cookies and coffee. While they were there, Deena was working out a plan to get rid of Alex as he is clearly a threat. So she thought that she had the votes of Heidi, Rob and Christy. As soon as Alex and Jenna returned, Heidi ran over to Alex and informed him of what was going on. They decided to vote out Deena as they felt that she backstabbed them all. Rob is playing both sides of the fence, so I am not sure what his game plan is.
The immunity challenge was really gross. It involved everyone having to eat grasshoppers and assorted bugs. I felt so bad for Christy as she was having such a hard time. In the end it came down to Deena and Matt. Deena had no idea her butt was on the line and thought that she still had her alliance, so she lost and Matt won immunity. He seems to be more level headed in this one, not quite so crazy.
Then on the tribal council where in a unanimous 6-2 vote, Deena was the next person voted out. I was shocked and a bit upset as Deena had been my pick all along. But her actions were just awful, so she was clearly the next to go.
I am not going to start my essay yet, because I think that still in the end the women will prevail!
****************************************
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 8************
What a show!! The very beginning of it showed everyone excited about the departure of Roger. Which I have to agree with because he was a total ass. Then onto strongman Dave who decided to build a walkway to the boat so everyone won't get their feet wet, which was really nice. Butch helped him out on this one. The scenes showing Matt going stir crazy were hilarious, everyone was saying "oh, he is so creepy, sharpening his machete." Take the damn thing away from him if you are so scared of it! What a bunch of wimps!!
The reward challenge involved trying to gather flags while tied to a rope in muddy water and in teams of three. Clearly, the strongest team was Deena, Dave and Alex. That was the team to beat. They obviously won that no problem; then went on to face each other, where Dave won the challenge with no problems at all. He was then told that he could bring someone with him, so he did a random numbers thing behind his back and Deena guessed right, and off she went. They were going to have a clean bath as well as some ice cream. While they were taking a bath, Dave was begging Deena (my pick by the way) to form an alliance with him and talk to the others about going along with him as well. They talked about taking out Matt next, saying that he is getting all weird and stuff. When they came back to camp, they actually had the nerve to say that they were hungry and that ice cream is not filling enough. They certainly didn't get any sympathy from anyone in the merged tribe. Heidi and Jenna sure made it known that they were pissed.
I also want to mention the scene when Heidi and Jenna went off to clean themselves off from the challenge, Rob was standing there like a dog in heat. That boy needs to get something from these two girls. That nite, too, he was staring so hard at Heidi and Dave as they were cuddling and sleeping really close to each other. I think that if looks could kill Dave would have been dead. Rob has got to be the biggest ass i have ever seen. He makes all these comments about how he is going to be in the final three with Heidi and Jenna and how he is going to win it all. Please!!! The guy is hopeless. Mike, you are not doing very well with the guys that are left, you know that, right? Haha!
When the time came for the immunity challenge they had to each make a mask of themselves, that would have been neat to do. They had to answer a series of questions, and with each one they got right, they were able to take a swipe at the rope tied to a log that would, after three swipes, break someone's mask. It was pretty intersting to see the order, with Matt and Dave being the first to go. It was also interesting that the girls were the last ones, with Jenna winning the challenge. Then back to camp, where you see Rob totally misleading Matt by saying "we are not going to vote for you", and then he says that he is deliberately lying to Matt and he hopes that he doesn't find out or he is dead. I hope so. I can't wait to see Rob get kicked off.
On to tribal council, where Dave made a plea for everyone to allow him to stay another three days. It fell on deaf ears though, as he was the next one to be voted off. He is also the first member of the jury. So now Mike, darling, we are tied, four girls and four guys!! I am glad to hear that you have started your bit... it's not good to procrasinate!!!! Ha ha haa!!
One point also that I would like to mention is about Heidi, this girl has no class! She takes off her clothes in the last show, this show she cuddles with Dave at nite, and then votes him off!! It does make me wonder what she is all about, and as much as I hate to say it, I do want her to be voted out next week. She needs to go, and take her bleached hair and fake boobs with her!! And in the end, it will be Deena holding the cheque!! Yeah baby yeah!
..........and now a few words from our site host:
Ugh! What a week this has been for the boys on Survivor. With Cindy's rather vivid description above of the events that occurred on the last instalment, you're not going to read a whole lot in the way of argument from me this week. But, being a man who doesn't take too well to being beaten by a woman, I will draw my sword and duel the fair damsel.
It sure looked like the producers were giving the impression that Matt was going to be the favored target of the Survivor leftovers this week. I always thought the guy was a little creepy and off center, ever since he sorta kinda looked like he was open to a threesome or something with Alex and Shawna a few episodes back. But I also think that parts of what's taped are being spliced together to draw impressions from the audience, so ultimately, it would seem that Matt would not be a target at all.
The bungees and bodies challenge for the junk food reward looked almost like it was made for the physically stronger members to win, especially with the teams that were made up. When the winner, Dave, had to choose between Deena and Alex who was to go with him on the mini getaway, he was fair about it. But hey, if it were me? Take Deena! I think she's sexy in her own unique and cerebral way. She's obviously very smart, has a modest but nice body (sorry, Jenna, but Deena does NOT fit my definition of "fat") and wields a large share of the power in the members left over in the game. Anyway, it wound up indeed being Dave and Deena off to contemplate the fate of the next tribal council. It seemed that Deena formed a pact with Dave to keep him on.
Then with the immunity challenge that Cindy described, it was indeed a head scratcher to me why the guys seemed so bent on getting rid of each other. Alex got that ball rolling by choosing to help get rid of Dave first, no doubt having been influenced by being bested by Dave and having ranting Rob talking in his ear. Alex is getting on my nerves now too. He doesn't have a will or mind of his own it seems. What gave me some hope for the guys' contingent is Heidi idiotically pointing out at tribal council that the guys made it easy for the girls by eliminating each other, leaving the four girls left to duke it out for immunity in the end, ultimately won by Jenna. That's a wake up call, boys! A bit of a shame that a girl from the other team has to point that out to you. Subsequently, Dave is the victim this week, with everyone, EVERYONE voting him off. Including his newfound buddy Deena. She played the boy like a fiddle.
You have to wonder if Rob really is going to make it into the final four. He gets more screen time than all the others combined, it seems. But the Survivor makers like to exploit the villains and make the show more entertaining as a result. Let's face it.....isn't it fun to hate the guy?? It's like when Jerri Manthey was on "Survivor: Australia", when she left, the chief villainess was gone, and it wasn't quite the same after that.
We'll see now where next week brings this journey to. But, as Cindy pointed out, yes I did write my concession to defeat essay. Just in case I need to use it. I figure if I do lose this, I might not be able to bring myself to write it after the shock of being had by a girl! And Cindy at that, who's been the victim of so much teasing by me over the years (don't worry, not nasty teasing). Anyway, the essay wasn't all that difficult to write.
But Cindy, love, the battle is not yet won. You never count your money while you're sitting at the table!
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 7************
I just know that Cindy loved the last episode of "S-A". The women totally got the men, even though it's not a battle of the sexes thing going on between tribes anymore. In fact, it's not even between tribes at all. The merge happened this week, and the six guys and four girls got together, had a party put on by Probst and co., and began to get to know each other. In some cases quite intimately.
Right off the bat, the former Jaburu folks got to know how much of an ass Roger was. The kicker is, Roger doesn't know how much of an ass Roger is. This idiot wakes everyone up the night after the party with his machete banging, barks orders at everyone telling them to do this and to do that, and STILL retains the smug attitude that the orginal plan among the guys is still in place to eliminate all the women first. Like the guys are going to keep him around even if that was so. It's just amazing to see that he was oblivous to the enemies he was making during his elongated stay in the Amazon.
Mind you, Roger's not the only dumbass among the men...Mr. Wonderful himself, Rob, thinks he's formed an alliance with the leader of the She-Woman Man Haters Club, Deena, while Deena herself knows that she's got her friends Jenna and Heidi mesmerizing Rob into turning against his own gendermates. Not that that's hard to do. Rob has a tendency to be led around by a certain appendage, and the girls have a vice grip on it. Matthew's not far behind. He seems jealous somewhat of Rob, and that may cause further friction among the guys in the future. Rob is insanely jealous, meanwhile, of Dave, who did stick to the game plan set out between his male counterparts, but only had Butch, Roger and himself keeping it alive. When Alex slipped into the female induced trance along with the rest of the younger boys, it seemed clear that Roger was a goner.
Immunity challenge time comes along, bringing with it a few headlights... HIGHLIGHTS... of its own. Heidi and Jenna put on another stunning display of brainpower by taking off their tops for nothing on international television, when everyone is challenged to balance on log stumps in the water, with the last one left standing gaining immunity. When Jeff tempts the bunch to desert their quest for untouchable status with peanut butter with chocolate cookies, Heidi and Jenna take their tops off anyway, without causing hardly a batted eye among the guys, and jump into the water leaving the rest to stick it out. What was that about? They trying to impress Probst or what?? It showed me two things: Heidi is the queen of skank for exposing herself on TV not even thinking about going back to her job at school as a gym teacher, and Jenna is an equally desperate skank for exposing herself just because her friend did. Well anyway, it really didn't matter who won this thing as long as Roger didn't, and he was next to go, thinking his position on the newly merged tribe was cemented among the boys. All the girls seemed delighted to see Roger jump off. And I think the only thing that would've made Rob happier is to see Dave go first. Deena stuck it out in the end to win the God-awful immunity necklace.
After immunity, the conversation turned seemingly so predictable against Roger that you wondered if you were being swayed to be led into a surprise at tribal council. When Christy's name was read off three times, I actually began to wonder, but it was Roger who was left with the boot print on his arse. Now Deena seems to be conducting the orchestra, at least this week. Things seem to take a severe left or right turn every week on this show. Deena's got Rob in the palm of her hand, and with Rob being possibly a swing vote between the guys and the girls, it could be bad news for the guys. AND me. How could you possibly think anything positive of a guy who literally admitted he'd strategically manipulate the votes in order to get himself locked into the final three with Heidi and Jenna in hopes of having a threesome with them? And he really does think it would happen!
I guess I can take comfort in the fact that changes happen so swiftly on "Survivor" that you can never predict what's really going to happen. But right now Cindy's kinda got me on the ropes. Or wrapped in them. Oh, hey Cindy.....uh........you know that picture part of the bet we have? Umm....Yeah, bad idea! We should scrap it eh?
And Cindy Strikes Back................
heheheheheeheheheheheehe!!!!
We women are kicking ass, Mike!! This show was awesome. The highlite of the show was when the secret box was opened and it was a message informing the tribes of the merge. Everyone was excited about it. I was surprised to see when they got together that not one of the guys mentioned that Shawna was kicked off. I liked Rob's comment about now maybe Alex will get his head out of his ass and concentrate on the game like he is suppose to. EXCUSE ME? But isnt Rob one of the guys who has been doing all of the talking and all of the dreaming of the other women? That comment just verified to everyone the truth about this guy that he is a jealous little wimp. He is so stuck on himself that it isn't even funny.
Off to the merge they go, and they all had a big feast to celebrate. When the feast was over, the men of course wanted to make sure the beer was cold, of course with my husband, Ben, warm wouldn't matter much to him, but to these guys it sure did! So Roger pipes up and says that it doesn't matter and wants to keep the food cool, rather than the beer. With that I agree with him, then he starts barking orders at everyone, do this and do that. Deena is so awesome!! I loved every one of her comments in this show. She nailed it on the head so many times saying how the guys still think the women are so weak and the men are so strong. BITE ME!!! So Heidi (again) has a great idea about voting off Roger now, because if they don't, he will be on the jury and he will not vote for a woman. That was the smartest thing that she has said. She has to be given credit for that. Off they go to immunity challenge, where everyone stands on a log stump in the water. Then Heidi and Jenna say that they will take off their clothes for some chocolate, so they do and they get the chocolate. To me if I was up there and I had the bodies that they do I may have done that. I would do just about anything for chocolate. But with the amount of people who watch this show, I am not so sure. Then Roger jumps off next saying that he felt safe enough he wasn't going to be voted off. When he jumped off, I thought for sure that everyone would jump off as well, but my woman Deena was the last one standing and was so happy. She even said that she just wanted to beat Roger, and Roger heard her and still had no idea that his head was on the chopping block.
When they got back to camp, everyone was so excited. Poor Roger is going on and on saying that the alliance is still in and that Christy is next. Well... when his name kept coming up, the look on his face was priceless. At the end he said that he was not outwitted, nor was he outplayed, he was outlasted. Poor Roger!!! NOT!!! What did this guy think? That he would be able to go in there and boss everyone around and expect to get far? The women clearly had this game, Mike!! And we will take it all the way with my pick Deena sitting in the million dollar seat and all of the men sitting in the jury!!!! And one last comment... if Rob thinks that he is going to be in the final three with Heidi and Jenna, then he needs a dose of Amazon reality fast!!! Who does this guy think that he is, God's gift to women? See Mike, all the men are going to go down because all they are thinking about is getting in the women's pants.
Better start that essay Mikie dear!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 6************
Okay, this show was degrading and very annoying. It opened up with loving scenes between Shawna and Alex. How sweet they were cuddling and she was playing with his hair. How sweet!! NOT!!! I am very disappointed this year with all the dating stuff and the constant talk of the women from the men. I thought that this game was about the money. Of course the men being typical men have their minds on nothing else. So in the end it will hurt them. Onto the reward challenge... It was a balancing act on logs and the women did so much better on this than the men. I thought that Rob was going to take a hissy fit when he was bumped off! So in the end, Tambaquai won the hard battle, thanks again to a woman. I am happy that Christy's new team values her and are not making her feel like she has a disablity. The comments from Butch were really nice.
So over at Jaburu, my pick to win Survivor, Deena, went off with Rob and talked to him. He immediately said that he didn't like Matthew and wanted to get rid of him. So they discussed alliances and I have to agree with Mike, this guy is horrible. He is the type of guy who would slit your throat in a heartbeat. He seems so petty, and he actually thinks that he is good looking. Which mirror is he looking in?! So that nite they sat there and did a dating game type of thing. Which was just awful because it only involved Shawna. The other women sat there wondering what was wrong with themselves. I thought that whole bit was insensitive. Of course, men's brains are really small so they dont think of other peoples feelings. I was surprised to see that Rob won this one with his fantasy date of going to New York. I wouldn't go to the outhouse with this guy!!
Now onto the disgusting immunity challenge where they had to tear off pieces of meat from a piece of wood. That was so gross, but Heidi proved to be the one who could handle it and won for her tribe. See she is trying like hell to save her ass. She needs to keep winning until the merge. Which was still to me a smart move on her part. Tambaquai won the immunity challenge and they were safe from the vote, sending Jaburu to tribal council. I thought for sure that Deena was gone. She is the strongest of them all on that tribe. Only to find out that it was between Shawna and Matthew. Obviously Alex didn't vote off Shawna, but the others did. I must say that I am not surprised and I am rather happy that she is gone. Maybe now the men will concentrate on the game and winning the million dollars. It they can even think because I think I mentioned something about their brains? So, Mike, the women may seem to be having a bit of bad luck but the bad seed is gone now, so I would start working on your essay, because the men are going down!!!! So in the end it will be Deena who is going to win it all. Not one of the wimpy guys!!
And now for the rebuttal from Mr. Mike..................
Well, Cindy, you do have some valid points here. But within reason; such as, some of the boys here indeed are thinking with their little heads as opposed to the ones on their shoulders, but to lump them altogether would be unjust. The guys on Tambaquai seem to have their priorities in order, while the guys in Jaburu are playing for something other than money. And Alex, buddy boy, you are now a marked man because of it. Damn you! You're supposed to be helping me win against Cindy here!!
Now, Cindy, I think you just might be carrying the feminist torch a little too high here eh? Ah, but this is a heated battle between us, is it not? Ha. Anyway, I didn't find the touchy feeliness between some Jaburu members degrading or offending as much as I found it stupid. As I watched, I saw Shawna lulling Alex into a state of suggestiveness, almost hypnotically so, and I thought I might be losing a guy from my side. But clearly the rest of the tribe was annoyed with them, and to boot Matthew went in and basically challenged Alex for Shawna's affections. Idiot! Now there are two marked men on that tribe. And the fantasy date thing, how incredibly silly was that of Shawna to allow herself to participate in it? I know you tend to think of men with small brains and thinking with their 'other heads' here, Cindy, but I can't help but think that Shawna was motivated by her own carnal urges here too, and likely this will surface with other younger women as this goes on.
This is not to say that I completely approve of the Tambaquai tribe either. When Butch spilled out his heart to Christy telling her "you don't have a disability" and saying it was a highlight of his life to see her help them win the reward challenge in spite of it, I had to wonder, um.......if she wasn't deaf, would she have done better?? The guys are sucking up to Christy for some reason, perhaps because of her latent charms. And unless she realizes that and uses it to her advantage, she could be just another woman voted off that tribe eventually. Play the game, woman, or be played. With Heidi, my favorite bubblehead to pick on in this Survivor program, we last left her from tribal council last week voting off one of her own gender mates with the guys, when she wakes up the next morning to find the guys taking off into the woods without her. Yup, good move there, Heidi. You're next. If the sucking up to Christy from the guys on that tribe don't spell out who's going to be voted off next if Tambaquai loses immunity, then I don't know what will.
But wasn't that immunity challenge hilarious?? That had to have been the funniest one ever! They had to make like human piranhas and rip the meat off of that spit with just their mouths and even help each other do it sometimes. I gotta say, maybe one of the more horrific moments though, was watching Roger and Butch use their mouths in way-too-close proximity to haul a piece of meat off. It was an intense battle that went back and forth and had no clear winner until the meat was measured in the end to see who got the most of it. Challenges like that, where it could go to anyone, are the funnest to watch. And the clicker with this one was seeing Deena get smacked in the head by the leftovers when it was done!
I do see one thing Cindy and I agree on, is that Rob is a pompous ass so full of crap that his eyes are brown. Despite forming an alliance with Deena, or so it appears, I wouldn't be surprised to see Rob turn on a dime should a pretty face lure him away, because that's just the feeble mind that he is. At least we haven't had to put up with that stupid 8 ball of his the last little while.
I'm still standing by my prediction that it'll be Butch who takes this whole thing away when it's all said and done. But as long as it's a guy, that's fine, even if it's that damned Rob. I can't let Cindy get me!!
************SURVIVOR COMMENTS WEEK 5************
This week Mark Burnett threw a huge curveball at us in the form of an exchange of tribe members. The whole thing comes about after a too-good-to-be-true occurence comes about with the youngest tribe members from each side, Dave from Tambaquai and Jenna from Jaburu, get taken to a remote section of the land for a Paradise-like retreat for a night, complete with food, drink, a bed (just one) to sleep in, and only each other to talk to. Now in my view, you put a man and a woman together in a situation like this, who's going to be the one to do all the talking? That's right, it was Jenna.
Jenna spilled the beans pretty much completely on her entire tribe, telling Dave who to trust and not to trust, who she gets along with and who she doesn't, and Dave pretty much told her nothing, seemingly weary of the stunt of having the two of them whisked off like this for a reason not yet made apparent. When the next morning comes and Probst arrives, he informs them that the tribes are going to change, and they will do the choosing as to how it does, with each picking three from each other's tribes. Dave goes with Christy, Jeanne and Heidi while Jenna goes for the younger set in Rob, Matt and Alex. And amazingly enough, when the guys arrive at the Jaburu camp, Shawna (remember her being at death's door last episode?) makes a miraculous recovery and gives the googley eyes to the fellas. And Deena is pissed. With the sudden injection of testosterone in the camp, Deena's authority is seemingly stripped, and now we'll see how strongly the female ties will hold now that it seems to be a man's world in Jaburu. I only say that because they have all the macho men now, in the forms of Rob, Alex and Matt, but chiefly Rob. I fully expect him to be the chief shit disturber in the weeks to come on that team.
When the immunity challenge comes along, the folks are presented with a collection game, where each team must collect around five or so flags stuck in the water in a pond, via a rowboat with all the team members in them, and bring them back to the beach. Clearly this was a contest that favored Jaburu now, with youth and physical strength on their side. They won, but surprisingly, not as easily as I expected them to.
Time came to oust a member from Tambaquai. Alliances are being cooked up, and with bubblehead Heidi over on the former men's team now, she uses her total lack of rationality to side with sweet-talking Dave to vote off Jeanne, while at another point the girls draw straws to decide which guy they'd be voting for. That turned out to be Butch, and they figured the guys will vote for one girl, and the girls will vote for one guy; then there'd be a tiebreaker contest, and no hard feelings. That clearly made too much sense to Heidi, who was literally told by Dave that she'd be number 4 on the tribe if she joined the guys in voting off Jeanne. Now the other two girls are easy pickings, including dimbulb Heidi herself. I can't say I'm surprised.
This was not a great week for the girls, I'm afraid, Cindy! With Shawna's remarkable rebound upon the sight of male flesh and Heidi's total inability to see through schemes, even such a simple one as she was dealt with, the female quotient of "Survivor: Amazon" never looked weaker or meeker. I would suggest you start writing your little tribute to the superior gender now, just to get ahead of things! And, um, there's that picture...............heh heh heh!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Back over to Cindy!............
--------------------------------------------------------------
This show had the best surprise of all. Two of the youngest members from each tribe were given a map and told to meet up somewhere. When they arrived they were obviously happy with who they were spending the nite with. They had food, a shower and a bed. Of course during Jenna taking a shower, Dave was peeking as typical for a guy. Right mike? (Yup! -Mike) So after that they are talking, and I agree with Mike (as much as I hate to LOL) the girl was the first to start blabbing. I dont know what she was thinking. I dont know if she even was thinking or was just so excited about talking to a guy, that she lost her mind. She told him everything about her tribe, who is sick and who has alliances. When it came to Dave's turn, he told her the names of the guys and what they do for a living. That was it. That was a really smart move. So the next morning when Jeff came and told them that the two tribes as they are no longer exist and they are going to pick three new members for each tribe, Jenna's face dropped like a ton of bricks. So she did her best to pick some good players, but in the end, I think that Dave picked the strong team. Before they got back to camp, a shot of the Jaburu tribe showed Shawna laying around and complaining as usual but boy, when she heard some men coming, she shot up like rocket. I have never in my life witnessed such a miraculous recovery. It made me laugh so hard! I guess that shot of testosterone did the trick. So now though, my pick to win is upset because she was top dog but now she is back to the bottom again.
On to the immunity challenge, where it was it was a collection of flags, and they had to row and collect them and return them back to a box on shore. Well, Jaburu won the challenge, which was well deserved, so Tambaquai was off to Tribal Council. So Heidi, Jeanne and Christy got together and drew staws to see who they would vote off between Butch and Roger. They didn't want to vote off Dave because he picked them. So they ended up agreeing to vote of Butch. Then Heidi gets the deal of a lifetime. She is approached by Dave who says vote of Jeanne and we will carry you with us to the merge. Heidi quickly agrees so she can save her own ass. I totally agree with what she did. We are talking a million dollars here, I mean she is given this great opportunity... I would have taken it. Now it may seem like Heidi was not smart here at all, but I think that she is. She will work her ass off like crazy to make sure that they win the next couple of immunities until they reach the merge, and then she will probably hook back up with Jenna. I dont care for Heidi, but I saw this move as a stragetic one and something that she had to do.
So this was a half and half show for the girls. Shawna is pathetic, and I don't understand what the guys see in her, she really isn't that pretty. Now, in a clip for next week's show, we see Alex clearly enjoying her company. This will ultimately lead to his downfall, because all he will be thinking of is Shawna. Heidi on the other hand was clearly smart in this one despite what Mike thinks. She did think this through and realized to save herself she had to vote off Jeanne. I mean, come on, if it was the other way around, Jeanne would have voted Heidi off in a heartbeat. Now I can't wait for the next show. Good luck Mike, and I think that YOU should be working on your essay. Now would be a good time!
* * * * * * * * * * SURVIVOR COMMENTS: WEEK 4 * * * * * * * * * *
OK, Mike, so they won, big deal!! I must admit though, that I am really disappointed by the way that the women acted in this show. No enthusiasm, no teamwork at all. The reward challenge involved a firestarting skill; the girls got off to a good start but soon started bickering and quickly lost. The guys did a great effort and won, they were rewarded by ice cold Cokes and a refridgerator. When the girls made their way back to camp, Shawna was crying and whining about how tough it is and on and on. What did she think that it would be like when she signed up for the show? Did she think that it would be like a walk in the park? I mean, hello, you are in the Amazon, you signed up for this, quit your whining!! During all this we are constantly being told from Heidi how pretty they are and they have the fab bodies. I am all for self confidence but this is way too much. She talked about the other women being upset that they are the prettier girls. In not one interview with the older women have they ever talked about the younger girls like that. Heidi seems to be riding some sort of ego trip and needs to get off and come to reality. Not one of those women is thinking how pretty she is, they are thinking of the $$$. Man, get a life!!!
So, off to the immunity challenge they go, where the teams were put against each other for a fishing contest to see who can catch the most fish. The men were right on track. They had it going on, they were organized... the women on the other hand, pardon my pun here, but literally looked like fish out of water! They were totally unorganized, and of course they lost. So on to Tribal Council where the obvious vote to me would have been for Shawna, but no, the smart women vote off JoAnna, one of the most hardworking women on the tribe. Now what are they going to do? They have kept someone who was sick and voted off someone who was strong. What kind of move is this? Shawna is only going to get weaker and weaker. Mike is really going to give it to me, and I dont blame him, the women in this show were really dumb. I am so disappointed.
However, this doesn't mean that the women won't be able to bounce back from defeat, because when we are determined we can do anything. So dont get too excited yet, Mike, when the war is over you will see who will be sitting in that million dollar seat, and I bet that seat will be occupied by one Survivor: Deena!! How do ya like that Mike?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...and now, the ever-arguing Mike.......
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, revenge is sweet, is it not?
Look......all the talk about the men being cocky and full of themselves and everything is all well and good, but given equal circumstances, I think what it comes down to in the end is that inflated egos can befall anyone, male or female. Granted, the guys were indeed full of themselves in the beginning, but I've said from the getgo that there were two or three of them that had enough machismo to poison the whole Tambaquai tribe's efforts, and two of those guys are now gone, and look at the efficiency level now. In retrospect, losing two immunity challenges was a good thing to happen to the guys. It brought them down to earth and exorcised the out-of-control sex drives in the forms of Ryan and Daniel. Now if only they could lose Rob. What is it about the 'Rob's in Survivor, anyway? This is three Survivor instalments in a row where guys named Rob turned out to be meatballs.
Now, onto the girls: What is up with Heidi?? I don't think I've seen a woman with a bigger male ego than this. First off, I do NOT think that she's as hot as she says she is. She looks like an extra-terrestrial to me, with the fake boobs and peroxided hair and probably botox facial features. It absolutely amazes me how women are so out to get each other, not only in Survivor but in the real world. Heidi actually said that the heavier girls (read: fat and old, by her standards) should be doing more work because they have more fat to burn! And that the older girls are jealous because her, Jenna and one or two others are "cuter and have better bodies". I say it all the time: You're only as attractive on the outside as you are on the inside. Thus, Heidi, to me, is BUTT UGLY. Now Deena, I don't understand. She's the one who led the charge to have JoAnna ousted, because she feels she poses the biggest physical threat. Well now the girls barely have a physical threat to the guys' tribe at all now that their biggest and strongest member is voted off. Instead, they kept Shawna, who outright told everyone she wanted off the tribe. This seems both illogical to me and sadistic. Now they have one less powerful tribe member (although maybe she was kind of loud, but now they have to put up with the whining one instead), and you may as well say one member as dead weight in Shawna. They will lose the next immunity challenge for two reasons...one, they'll want to ditch Shawna. Two, now that it's six on six in the contests, it'll really be six on five, where Shawna won't have any ambition to do anything. And three, really, the guys are on track to REALLY kick the women's asses. Period! Sorry, Cindy, but that's the fact.
Now, Cindy, I would have agreed with you that Deena would be the sole survivor in the end if the women were to win at the very beginning, but now that she's been elected as the leader of Jaburu, she's also marked as a future target as being a threat. So I'd side with the more subtle approach taken by Jeanne, even though really, a guy's going to win this. And that guy is going to be Butch. Who? Butch. You probably asked yourself who "Butch" is. Which is exactly why he's going to win. He's been doing his part, been laying low and hasn't caused any problems in the tribe. And he's old enough to not let his libido get the best of him during the challenges.
So, Cindy my dear, things are happening basically as I thought they would. The women will slowly self-destruct now that JoAnna is gone, Shawna is basically dying--at least if you ask her-- and after next week when the women lose another immunity challenge, and they will, the morale will disintegrate down to the embers left burning in Janet's torch. The men won't beat the women, Cindy, I agree....The WOMEN will beat the women. The men don't have to!
(Insert Tim the Toolman macho grunt here) HOOOOOOO! HOO! HOO! HOO!
* * * * * * * * * * SURVIVOR COMMENTS, WEEKS 1-3 * * * * * * * * * *
Three episodes of "Survivor: Amazon" have now gone by, and though it's a little tardy, here's a look from a MALE point of view of what's been going on, by yours truly, Mike....
The first week, we had the tribe members of the women, Jaburu, introduced to us with the male tribe, Tambaquai, eight members each. My first impressions were, "well, not bad looking women", and Janice, my wife, had reactions similar to the guys side. Although make no mistake; Janice and her friend Cindy, whom you will get to know here, are staunch advocates for the Jaburu chicks to beat the asses of the men. It got off to a promising start. Friction looked like it could develop between tribe members on both sides to make the show interesting in future episodes, and I was delighted to see the women bicker a lot more than the men were. But....I did see some retardation in the Tambaquai camp in the forms of Rob, Dan and Ryan. All three of these guys, along with Matthew, probably headed for Heartthrob status for the female viewers. But brainwise, maybe not so. Rob is the one whom I have the biggest bone to pick, with his dumbass Magic Eight Ball with him for him to ask whether or not he's going to get laid or even looked at from the ladies' side during the challenge that day. And he, along wtih Dan and Ryan, are SO full of themselves it's embarassing. But in show #1, Ryan's machismo got the best of him as he wound up humping a log instead of trying to walk it in an obstacle course challenge (Dan did the same thing), and with his finger pointing and bravado wound up getting himself booted off that night.
The second week...there was the first reward challenge, with the reward being some lame-ass fishing bait. Sure, it'll help the winners of it catch fish, but come on! Throw some crackers or something for instant gratification in there somewhere! Anyway, the girls in Jaburu were beginning to somewhat descend on Christy, quite frankly, because she's deaf and can't meld in with the others because of it. But to Christy's discredit, during her interviews she seemed to use her handicap as a crutch and excuse for her candidacy to stay on. A granola bar wrapper ended up showing up during the show in Jaburu's camp, leaving everyone to question everyone else and raise suspicions. Janet seemed to be immediately indicted for the unholy crime of having a granola bar, this despite the fact that in Christy's bio one of her favorite snack foods is granola bars. The reward challenge comes around in the form of puzzle with a bunch of boards scattered around the ground that the teams had to solve to make a big picture, and the girls won again. Damn! Janice has me over a barrell here, and Cindy's gonna too, I thought immediately. And I didn't know WHAT I was going to do to save face if the guys lost the immunity challenge this week. Before that comes around, though, tensions at the Tambaquai camp are rising, with the boys getting more and more fed up with Roger's barking of orders and apparent homophobia, and conspiracies are beginning to take shape. Dan can't stand the sight of Roger and vice versa. It would appear that Dan, despite his physique, doesn't have a hell of a lot of motivation to put it to practical use, and that inspires Roger to get a pact going with his tribemates to eventually oust Dan. The immunity challenge comes. It turns out to be a memory game, where everyone goes into a makeshift "room" with knick knacks and furniture and memorizes what's in it for a round of questions from host Jeff Probst later. "Great," I thought, "the women are going to completely hogtie the guys in this one". Turned out the opposite! The women got pasted in this contest, to my surprise, and much like the girls beat the guys at their own game of physicality the week before, the guys came back to scoop one out from under the women. Once tribal council arrives, producer Mark Burnett works his usual magic to make the viewers ponder who'll be voted off, seemingly steering the popular concensus that it will be Christy. Turns out that Janet got the boot, due to the false accusation that it was her who brought the granola bar to the island. I'm willing to bet that the producers of the show planted it there to get some excitement going. Anyway, now the tribes are seven aside.
The third week in, the guys are feeling still somewhat humbled from being defeated in the initial contest of the program, but now regain a little pride in carrying the ugly immunity idol back to their own camp after last week. Tensions are still mounting though, mainly between Dan and Roger. Roger tells the interviewer that he's tempted to haul off and slap Dan to snap him out of his laziness and ignorance. Now, while Roger is indeed the older and wiser of a lot of the guys on the tribe here, he is indeed a homophobe and apparently emits the lovely odor of sour vinegar, so he falls under the "he who lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" category. Over on the women's side, we get a really up close and personal view of the ladies' bathing duties. Lots of skin and breasts for the male viewers (if there are any besides me) to gawk at, although, come ON, these girls look like they're from the Ally McBeal fan club. But at least Ally had nice legs and was pretty! It seems all the guys are gaga over Heidi, and I just don't see it. Fake boobs and peroxided hair are so '80's and Anna Nicole Smith-ish that it just doesn't do anything for me. Deena, on the other hand, seems to be the strong yet cool headed chick of the bunch, and could well lead the pack to success, where the tribe voted her to take charge. Good thing for them they didn't vote for JoAnna to do it, since she's about ready to pick fights with anyone who even looks at her funny. So.....the reward challenge comes up. Seems like another lame prize to me. A bunch of hygenic things and again, no snacks or anything, which would've really raised the bar for the competition. Instead, what we got was a half-assed Match Game type challenge where the guys couldn't even get their heads together from gawking at the girls to realize they were asking for the same things from the same girls. So the guys were beaten. Once immunity challenge time comes along, where the tribes were trapped in a cage and had to use teamwork to escape--seemingly a gift for the men to win it--the girls put their heads together and came from behind again to humiliate the guys. Arrrgghh! Look, I can't explain how hard it is to figure out how I'm going to defend myself against Cindy when this happens! Tribal Council happens again for the guys, and to a lot of people's utter surprise, Dan plays the race card, saying he basically feels left out and is swimming upstream being the only person of Asian descent on the team. I think that annoyed everyone enough to unanimously vote Dan off. I mean EVERYONE got rid of him. Good riddance. Now take Mr. Magic 8 Ball boy with you.
It's down now to seven tribe members for the ladies to six for the guys. Now that the horses' asses are off Tambaquai, well--there's still one or two more idiots, but whatever--I think the girls will have a tougher time trouncing the testosterone. Mark my words...next week, it'll be one woman less on Jabaru. Sooner or later, the horseshoes are going to drop out of the women's butts!
...And now, the lovely Cindy Elward........
Ok my first thought on the first show of "Survivor" was, great, the women can finally prove to the world that we are strong. That we are not as delicate as people think, and that when we put our heads together we can get things done. While it seemed like the women were concentrating on the game and doing what they had to do, the men on the other hand were so preoccupied with checking the women out... do they think that they are on a singles retreat? Do they really think that they are going to win when they seem to be so obsessed with the women? Mainly Heidi, Jenna and Shawna. I had to ask myself several times what show am I watching because all they did was talk about the women. It pissed me off to no end the way that the men were sitting in the boat and looking at the women as if, "yeah, you will never win" and flexing their muscles. They were so cocky and so full of themselves, that is why they went to tribal council first, because they are not focused on the game; as Ryan said, "oh it is a million dollars here we need to get our act together," yet he was the first one voted off. Jeff said it best in the end when the men were at tribal council; he said that it seems like they are focused more on the women and not the game, and it cost them. Well said, Jeff! Sorry Mike, but now we really see where men's heads are!
The second show left me with a bad taste in my mouth. One from Christy and JoAnna's not-so-friendly conversation. Why do women find a need to belittle each other and make the other one feel just awful? At that one point in the show, I was for the first time in my life not proud to be a woman. So we won the reward challenge, though, because the guys were ogling the women and not paying attention. That was great for the women, but then came the familar "Kel incident" with the granola bar being found among the backpacks, with all fingers pointed at Janet as being the culprit. Everyone in camp made it clear that they believed that indeed it was Janet who brought that bar there. When they went to the immunity challenge, I believe that they lost on purpose as they wanted to vote Janet off. However, once again Christy's pitiful performance had me thinking that she would be the next to go. I was glad that she was standing up and trying to get things done, but she had the wrong approach to it. Rather than ask people nicely to help her, she barked orders and demanded people help her. But in the end, poor Janet was the one who got the boot. The women did not make me proud in this show.
The third show was the worst, we could have done without the scenes of the women bathing; that wasn't really necessary if you ask me. The girls won the immunity which made me glad, but what is with the challenges? To me they are lame, with no excitement that we used to see. The producers must be running out of ideas for the show. The women however really seemed to get their act together in this show, with the shelter finally done, and all the water that they have been boiling. And of course when it came time for the immunity challenge, the girls worked together and won. The men seemed to try to outdo each other rather than work together. Of course, that is typical with each male. Look at my husband, when he gets together with his friends and they talk about cars, each one of them is right and the other is wrong. Each one of them flexes his muscles by saying "I am the best!!" All guys do that, this is why in the end the women will still be standing, and the guys will be on the sidelines whining and saying that it is the 8 Ball's fault. Ha! When they went to tribal council, Dan made a big deal out of being Asian and saying that he feels left out. I have watched each show and have not even seen a hint of any racism at all. So that was yet another man blaming his downfall on something. Oh, and before I forget, what is the deal with this Roger fella? Does he have something stuck up his butt? Why is he walking around like the rooster? Oh you men you make me laugh.
Sorry to report, boys, that she's taken! |
-----------------------------------------------------
Now, ladies and gentlemen, here are the rules to the little wager Cindy and I have going: If a girl should win at the end of this stint of "Survivor", Cindy wins the bet. If a guy does, I win. The winner gets to pose in a picture victorious over the loser to be posted here on this page, with a full-page essay to be written on why the opposite sex is superior in every way. No jokes, no jibes, just straight-ahead admiration! Sound humiliating enough? All in good fun,of course. Cindy and I are great friends, but really, we both want to get one up on each other here!
Each week, Cindy and I will offer our alternating opinions on the most recent episodes of "Survivor: Amazon". For instance, the first instalment had my offering posted first, followed by Cindy's rebuttal, the next week she goes first, then me, and so on. Keep coming back for the new report every weekend.
